DESCRIPTION:
The District Attorney’s Office is seeking to fill the position of a Digital Media & IT Specialist due to the growing demands of digital evidence in case files, fast-paced changes in the field of technology, and the need to be efficient and professional in our presentation of digital material in the courtroom. The employee would be employed by Ware County Government, but work at the direction of the District Attorney for the Waycross Judicial Circuit. The District Attorney’s Office serves six counties: Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware. Employee would be responsible for a variety of duties related to technology and digital evidence to assist in prosecution and other functions of the District Attorney. Examples of anticipated duties are described below which are generally assigned by the District Attorney, Assistant District Attorneys, or Investigators.
DUTIES:
- Provide professional technical design, implementation, presentation, and maintenance of multimedia exhibits and demonstrative aids and other visual aids to provide effective visual support during trials, hearings, training, etc. on behalf of the District Attorney’s Office
- Redact inadmissible portions of digital audio and/or visual recordings while ensuring the final product meets industry standards for quality, resolution, and sound
- Assist with storage and backup of digital evidence and files for discovery and file retention
- Aid county IT with in-office tech support (computers, copiers, networking, etc.)
- Assist with Audio-Visual technology
- Maintain inventory of programs to be able to view videos attached to case files
- Set up video conferences (commonly used platforms: WebEx, Zoom, & Teams)
- Remain current on new developments and best practices in the field of technology, digital media, and AI as it relates to prosecution and presentation of cases in the courtroom and file retention
- Regular daytime travel is required and overnight travel may be required for training opportunities
- Communicate respectfully with coworkers, court personnel, colleagues, and the public in a timely and professional manner
- Attire suitable for court is required for court attendance
- Other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid GA Driver’s License
- Possess knowledge of the function of the District Attorney’s Office
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365
- Demonstrate proficiency in presentation software, i.e. PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides, etc.
- Skilled in video and/or audio editing
- Able to use and maintain multimedia equipment, supplies, programs, and related hardware
- Thorough knowledge of computers and networking, from A/V to IT
- Work well with others on often last-minute/time-sensitive projects with speed and accuracy
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new skills and technology in the rapidly changing field
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Media Design, Digital Media, or closely related filed
- Experience in utilizing and editing in multimedia platforms, including graphic design, interactive technology, or related multimedia technology, in creating effective and persuasive visual and audio materials
- Able to provide portfolio of past digital media presentations
- Knowledge of various AI programs and the potential impact of authentication in the legal field, i.e., Data Analysis, Chat-GPT, LLM, DeepFakes, etc.
